Sam’s Tavern has been Seattle’s favorite tavern for a long time—perhaps longer than most think due to its origins as the original Red Robin restaurant. That’s right—this currently lively and inventive Seattle pub was, in its early days, the original Red Robin. The leadership of the first Sam’s Tavern changed hands, and the name changed with it. However, Sam’s is open again, and has been growing in business. This bar now has multiple locations, and all of them feature a delicious menu of food and drinks that are a must-try for Seattle residents and visitors.
The food in Sam’s Tavern is bar none. The light and lively atmosphere of the bar has influenced the food, ensuring that it’s just as delicious and exciting as the patrons that enter each day. There are a number of burgers available, including vegetarian options: teriyaki burgers, aloha burgers, chili burgers, and of course, classic cheese burgers. Each of these are also available with different bun options, including a variety of wraps, to make sure your experience is as fun and delicious as you want to make it. Of course, we have plenty of other bar food to be enjoyed, including wings, onion rings, nachos, sliders, BLTs, salads, fries, and more. All of our food is carefully prepared by a staff that has experience, and fun, so that you can enjoy every last bite. You’ll never be without a tasty option when you step into our bar!
Sam’s is a lively pub with an array of beer and cocktail options, and a varied menu. It was voted as one of the best bars in Capitol Hill, and our Bloody Mary has won her own awards. The choices in beverages at Sam’s are made by a staff that cares. We don’t just pick the first thing we see and put it on our shelves. Our bar is home to refreshing drinks that will certainly offer extra fun and relief for anyone who has a sip. Our trained and licensed staff are careful in their creations and service as well, because they understand the importance of your drink reaching you in top shape. Whether you order our Bloody Mary or a can of Guinness, we’ll treat you right so that you can go and enjoy your night.

Considering how we’re very reasonably priced, Sam’s Tavern captures the Seattle dive bar vibe extremely well. Speaking of fun, there are plenty of people online who were happy to share their stories with us.
Rona S. also gave us a 5 star review on Yelp! Alongside plenty of pictures of her adventure with us.
This bar is very straightforward: TVs, sports fans, alcohol, and bar food. The best thing was the service. We walked by with our dog and they allowed us in! They’re dog-friendly! Instant points in my books. They were also very quick with everything.
We got Rainier beer for $2 a can, which is a great deal. They had 50-cent gameday wings, which we over-ordered—but it’s okay, we ate it. We also got nachos. The food was average, the wings were good and mostly drumsticks, which is actually my favorite.
Overall, we had a great experience on a Sunday gameday.
A final review we’re grateful for comes from Derek E., also on Yelp. It’s another 5-star praise, and this time for our famous Bloody Mary!
Your long-awaited search for the ultimate Bloody Mary is over: it’s here! At Sam’s Tavern!
I recently went on a Bloody Mary binge across the state to find the most amazing dressed and spicy Bloody Marys I could find. And what do you know – I found it right here at Sam’s Tavern.
This masterpiece is loaded with garnish: an amazing burger slider (so juicy and delicious!), olive, onion, tomato, cheese cube, cocktail weenie, celery, and a lime wedge. The Bloody Mary mix itself is very good too, with spicy hints of garlic, or you can go with bacon or whatever flavor you choose. I went here only wanting one, but it was so good I finished three.
If you’re a Bloody Mary enthusiast, put Sam’s Tavern on your bucket list. You won’t be disappointed!
