They didn’t travel from the other side of the city for nothing. “Crosstown Neighbors” won the big prize. They recruited other players and are now a force to be reckoned with. While normally thought of as playful and outgoing, “Corgi’s 4 Life” were tenacious. It came down to the last round, they lost but by three points, placing them in second place. Our final place is third, though it’s from Se7en, “Gwyneth Paltrow’s Head in a Box”.
We had several great team names, hopefully next time they make it into the top three and I can share their creativity.
Join us Tuesday and enjoy the BEST Bloody Mary in Town, with the most amazing burgers.
Last week the body was the focus of team names. A team from the local writers non profit, Hugo House, came in third place, with “Dickens in My Mouth”. Classic and classy, a good fit for the hill. Our second place team was seriously competitive. Despite their name I don’t think they wanted to resort to a “Throat-Punch”.
They been told to get it checked out by a doctor. But our third place team said it only “Burns a Tad When I Pee”.
Music and movies go together like a hipster and plaid. That’s just what happened last week it was songs from movies, and our fourth place team, “Muffin Top” won the round by a landslide. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough for them to beat “Marky Mark’s 3rd Nipple” our third place team. They not only had one of the best team names from the night, but also the best quote came from them. “It’s Superman, G@d Damit”. Just ahead of them from the other side of of the city was “Cross Town Neighbors”. Then our first place, putting their law degrees to work to cover their bar tab “EB’s Big Adventure”. The last round sealed the win with a near perfect round.
Some teams were early and some were wicked late. But ‘Better Late Than Pregnant’ was the best team name last week. The competition was tough, the top three teams were close up until the last round. Just like the Beatles song, “Friends of Roo” got along with a little help, to win first place. It may only be the second day of the week, but “Tuesday Boozeday” our second place team, thinks it really helps break up the week. Often it’s shear numbers that help win the game, someone’s bound to know the answer. well it didn’t with “Seven,Seven, Seven”, our third place team. But they are by far the most energized team.
It’s not just Happy Hour before the quiz, but also during it, for all teams that let their server know.
This will be our last Tuesday for the year, We will return January 6th.
Sitting off to one side of the bar we finally discovered after the second round, why our tied for second place team choose, “Farts & Recreation” Whew…. The other tied for second team answered the exact same number for the tie breaker question. So “Wicked Early” shared the bounty. It’s always the quiet ones you have to watch out for. Well in this case we weren’t even sure they were awake. It seem as though they took, “Uncle Bill’s Sleeping Pills”. But in end the first place team was revived.
Last week “Ivancito” the newcomers who were only staying for one maybe two did a fantastic job with fourth place. Braving the possible street blockades and riots (the never appeared on The Hill) they drove to be our “Cross Town Neighbors” winning third place. Then starting out with “Nothing Yet” and ending up in second place. It’s the highest they have ended up so far, great job. Then missing out on round one, crushing round two, they had a lot to make up. But by round six they made up for the fact that they were “Latecomers” and won the game.
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, survived Black Friday, and let your fingers do the walking on Cyber Monday.

During last weeks game: All of a sudden, like a ton of bricks it hit “Augmented Reality Cats (ARC)” our third place team. The second place team, doing fantastic in the second round, said they could have done better but… “Oly wouldn’t Shut Up!!!” And finally our winners the fantastic medical duo, “Studs in Scrubs” did a fantastic job in the music round with a nearly perfect score.
Fan-tastic!!! Several longtime teams were back from vacation over the summer. And they were ready to play hard ball. Everybody played fair, “nobody pulled the others dangly bits.”
The winners were actually slighted by a miscount, “It was Florida all over again”. After correcting the mistake, “Don’t Stop Beliebering” didn’t give up hope and in the end were the winners. The second place team “Pewp Stainzz“, a birthday wish come true. And finally “Ignoble Firs” missing the fourth leg of the stand were a little off, but just made it into the money round.
It’s tough to climb the corporate ladder. But it’s helpful if you have the ability to create an environment conducive to closing deals; usually achieved through the use of expense accounts: “Business Drunk”. Where you’re able to get the job done and still have fun at it. Which is what our winners did.
Then, losing by one point was the split personality “Simpson”,from Iceburg Simpson. They had a fantastic music round, almost winning the pitcher. Then it was “Cross-Town Neighbors” another splinter group, from “Upstairs Neighbors” who rounded out the top three by placing third.
Several new teams joined us for Tuesday night’s showdown. It was “Nekkid Nuggets” leading the way almost the entire game. Until the last round when the “Upstairs Neighbors” dropped in to borrow a cup of first place. They won by ONE point. IT was Coda, their musical answer that won them the game. The culmination of years of playing clarinet finally paid off. Our third place team was “Chalupa Batman” who started out by saying, ” You mean it’s free to play? Hell yeah we’re in”.
